help ...need good alternator

This is the second one in as many years ..i have put one delco and one excel ( from Big A auto parts) alternator on and neither will last . Has anyone used a powermaster or anything else and has had great luck? Plus i know hat we have 140amp one wire alternators, is there a better style or more powerful one out there?

Been there. Remans are getting worse in quality no matter who does it. They are rebuildable if you are a little handy with soldering and mechanics. Try www.alternatorparts.com, they have kits and complete units. I used their Iceberg repair kit and so far so good. Last GM reman I bought cost me about 260 bucks. Got the kit for 49 and it went fine. They also carry 140 amp upgrades. They also carry all GM OE parts to do the repair if you are so inclined.
