What is a chip?
What is the computer chip everyone talks about. You are supposed to get better performance with better ones right? well What are they? Where are they in my car? Is it to do with fuel injection perchance? I have carb. please help me out here

All stock thirdgen camaro/firebirds have computers which control ignition timing and air/fuel mixture. These computers, called ECMs are located behind the dash on the passenger side. The chips contain the fuel and timing look up maps used by the computer. Sometimes with enough mods, our cars need more fuel or timing than oringinaly thought by the factory so new chips are needed.
