I am trying to hook up a security system, but i need to cut the starter selenoid wire under the dash and connect a wire to each end. I cant figure out which wire it is. I have an 86 camaro v6 mpfi, could someone help me out? it would be nice to know the color and where it is.

 

Should be a heavy purple wire, running from the junction block on the firewall to a switch on the clutch pedal bracket; between those points, it splices out to run to the automatic trans shifter.
