Blinker problem
Blinker problem
Here is what is happening, and thanks in advance for all who reply:
One blinker stays constantly on when I turn it on, no blinking action. This is the driver side/left turn blinker.
The right side works just fine....
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Douglas

is it the blinking light that is by the steering wheel inside the car that is staying on or is the actual blinker
if its the light by the steering wheel then you have got a bulb out in that light you can get the bulb from the back of the light by reaching under the car
if it is the other possiblity then i would check and see if all my fuses are put all the way in and maybe even change it (if any other electrical problems accur)

Actually, forgot to mention, its a Firebird, I don't drive the RS anymore.
Anyway, it is both the inside blinker thingy and the outside ones, and all the lights work, they get brighter when I turn the signal on in the front and the back on turns on and just stays on....
Thanks,
Douglas

Check your wires under the dash...does the blinker EVER blink? Try smacking the dash under your steering wheel and see if that causes a change. It's got to be either the wiring, fuse, bulb, or flasher but since the other one works it's probably not the flasher.

Well I hope I can help you guys out here cuz I've seen this before. I haven't dealt with it, but have seen it happen to others... It isn't the flasher - it's one of your bulbs on whatever side that's affected - either your front ones or back one. You just gotta find out which one, with either new bulbs or using a known good bulb to swap til you find it. Good luck, like I said, I hope this helps...

You either have a bad bulb, a bulb in backwards (it DOES make a difference), a bulb wired wrong, or a bad socket. My wifes old car did this when we hit a deer and it broke the socket, and my friends corvette did this when the wire broke at the socket, and my car did this when the bulb.... It goes on and on. See if one of your bulbs isn't burnt out.
