Daytime Running Light Hook up
I just recived the DRL kit from this guy: http://members.nccw.net/webe/products/products.htm
Anyway it I know how to do all the hook ups except where you need to connect it to a power source that comes on when the car turns on. I do not know what wire that would be or how to get to it. Any help would be greatly appriciated. Thanks.

Just FYI this DRL unit makes the amber parking lights come on the bright mode as soon as you turn on your car, just like the 4th gen birds and Camaro and C5's.
Several options for that.... I did off my coil wire that powers up my ignition box. I got the DRL module installed today
Anothr easier option would be to go right off the fuse box. There should be a hole marked "IGN" or something similar that gets power whent the ignition is turned on. Plug the wire in there and it should be good to go.

you can do the same thing with three relays. two normally open and one normally closed.
Connect the normally open one control wire to a power source that comes on with the car switch connect this to one that is noramlly closed, have the control wire hooked to the headlight switch(normally closed), run this into the wire that turns on your running lights. Between the lights and the splice for the previous relay put the other normally open relay contoled off the parking light switch.
You turn on you car the running lights come on, you turn on your head lights it turns off your system and lets the normal control take place.
but I guess it would cost about the same the relays are about 10 a piece, put it on a toyota truck once. And theres come with a warranty :-) And my way takes too long.
I played way too much with electronics LOL.
if interested I could work up a diagram, but I don't know the parts numbers, but you could go to the store and ask for the relays.

Gm has had a DRL kit for some time. It can work with most GM cars with the exception of models with covered headlights. It was listed as Pt# 12370131. They also provided a toll free assistance line for installation help. I don't know if it is still available, you can check with a dealer.
