Code 43 is for the ESC (electronic spark control) circuit. What year & motor? In some systems the ESC is controlled by a module, external to the ECM (located under the hood, near the fire wall, on the driver's side), while in other systems, the ECM has the ESC control built into it. In any case, the knock sensor is the "microphone" for the system. The knock sensor is located on the passenger side, threaded into the block.

The module in the distrubutor would not be the problem with a code 43 - that module would only need to be changed if you had a code 42 (EST). Your code 43 points to the ESC circuit, which is the knock (detonation and preignition sensor). Disconnect the plug at the knock sensor, and verify that the dark blue wire that connects to the knock sensor has continuity back to the ECM - pin F9 (green connector), and that it is not shorted to ground. If there is continuity to the ECM, and no continuity to ground, then replace the knock sensor. If the problem persists, and the timing is set correctly (6 degrees BTDC), then replace the ECM.

this all started by me putting new motor in big cam headers msd box coil afpr light porting but my headers hit the car so being semi smart i decided to move the knock sensor by making blue wire longer and put another knock sensor on the end of it but i h ad sa me problem did not fix **** dont know what to fix i already checked timing i just pulled the plug on the fender and set it at4
