Is there a way to hook up the EGR solenoid when computer is gone?
I did the carb swap and now the carb and HEI are no longer run by the computer. The car runs great, but I have this fear come emissions time, they are going to say that my EGR solenoid is not hooked up right that I fail.
Is there a way to hook it up without the computer? Right now, the solenoid is not hooked up to anything (and the EGR valve remains closed). If I plug it into the harness, will it go mental and open the EGR valve, or is there a way to make it run correctly.
I hate the damn thing, but if I have to keep it on the car, I might as well try to make it work correctly...

If you must connect it for inspection, connect the EGR servo to a ported vacuum source - that does not have vacuum @ idle. You could also make the EGR solenoid valve wires disappear into the harness & not connect to anything if asthetics are all they would be concerned about.
