starter solenoid

My starter went out again so I decided to take some advice on how to prevent this. I switched to an optima battery and added two gauge cable to the starter to eliminate heat soak. I also decided to put the heat shield on before it started to go bad this time. I bought a GM high torque high temp style and my question is about the wiring of the solenoid. I have an 89 GTA 350 and I have the power wire to the large post the small ignition wire black that is for the small top post. I am unsure about the two other red/ maybe orange wires. I am not sure if they go on the other small post or the same as the starter power wire. I have wired it before but the car has been in the paint shop for two months and I havent changed the starter and do not want to fry anything. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
