Help : Guage bulb install

After you take out your guages to put in new bulbs, Do you also need to take out the white plastic piece holding them in? Two of my stock bulbs and their holders have fallen behind it so I know I need to take it off anyways but I cant figure out how to take off my speedo guage. Are these bulbs supposed to just pull out like the ones in my rear view mirror? I tried that and they didint want to come out. Any help is highly appreciated.
Thanks

Take the whole cluster out, it's much easier, and I'm a big guy, so if I can get my hand up there you probably can too. undo the two speed nuts at the bottom, then pull the cluster out as far as you can, get as much slack out of the speedometer cable as you can. Take a look up there w/ a flashlight, you will see where the cable attaches, it's surrounded by a black clip, use a flat head screwdriver to get the clip off (pry it towards the cluster I think) it should come right off. once you do that, you'll see the light sockets on the backside of the cluster. Twist, pull, swap bulbs, then do everything backwards, it's best to line up the speedo cable, then holding it near the firewall, press the two together. It's much easier this way.

Thanks 86Z, I just finally figured out exactly what you just told me after messing with it for almost an hour and a half. I have to drive my car to school tommorow so I was in a rush to find out. I just finished the bulb swap and it is 12:40 here. Thanks for helping!!
