Need help on wiring a kill switch/

I am needing some help on wiring a kill switch in my 91 firebird. What would be an easy but effective way? Thanks

The fuel pump supply wire (tan / white stripe) runs through the plastic conduit on the driver's side, under the sill panel carpet (left hand side of the driver's seat) - opening that wire will make the motor unable to run.

If you change the splice point from the purple wire after the PRNDL switch to the yellow wire before the PRNDL switch, your hatch release will work. Make sure that you make the splice up stream of where the hatch relay wire (yellow) connects to the PRNDL switch. The hatch relay gets its ground through the PRNDL switch and the starter solenoid coil when the PRNDL switch is in P or N. This prevents the hatch from being released while the PRNDL switch is in any other position than P or N.

just on a by the way note, if you pull the brake handle up enough to get the dummy light on, the hatch will work in any other gear position besides P or N

That is incorrect. The hatch switch is grounded through the parking brake only on manual transmission cars. On automatics, it is wired as Tim states, and only working in Park or Neutral.

As an additional by the way note, I recently purchased and installed a Painless Wiring Hot Shot Plus Relay with a bump button. Since this setup interrupts the ground to the hatch release button, my wiring job had to stray some from the directions. I also had to use a SPDT relay versus the SPST relay they provided. Just giving some heads up to anyone making this addition with an auto tranny.
