I need help I own a 1987 firebird with a 2.8 MPFI. I'm only getting 14 mpg and use to get about 25 I don't know what the problem is my ECM has a code 54 and that is low voltage to the fuel pump but I don't think that is causing my problem. Any help would be appreciated.

1987 Firebird 2.8 more show than go. Still turns over 10' tires though.

If the fuel pump voltage is in fact low, the atomization pattern of the injectors deterioriates as pressure decreases, which may cause poor fuel economy.
