HELP?? Bright lights are hard to get off

Hello, I was wondering if someone can help me. My problem is when I am driving at night and go to dim my bright lights, sometimes the won't go off. And sometimes when I go to dimm them, it just turns on my low beams too along with the brights? Is this problem in the actual control lever? Help me please!

I Kinda have the same problem with my 84 TA but I think I know the answer. Your gonna have to pull the stearing wheel off and check if you have anything loose in the area, plasic or even a very small rock can lodge itself infront of the headlight swich. In my case it's form the turn signal because it will not click off when I bring the wheel back.

The dimmer switch is mounted on the steering column, under the dash.Find a steel rod on top of the column(there should be 2---1 is for your ignition switch and the 2nd is the dimmer switch). This rod is what activates the dimmer switch. When you pull the dimmer lever on your column it pushes this rod down. The other end of this rod goes into your dimmer switch.Sometimes the switch may get stuck. Not allowing the switch to"pop"out.
If I'm not mistaken the switch is white in color.

Sounds like your dimmer switch needs adjustment. As Kevin said, it's controlled by a rod that runs along the steering column, at about the 10:00 position, as you're looking at the steering wheel. It can be a pain to get to, but there are 2 little 1/4" screws on it and all you need to do is pop those loose, adjust your switch, and snug 'em back down. When you adjust it, make sure the column is straight - wheel not tilted up or down. Another piece of advice - drop the steering column off the bracket it's mounted to (2) 13mm nuts, so that you can swing it down and out somewhat, cuz like I said, those little screws for the switch are a painus in the anus to get to... Good luck.
