lighters

is there some common flaw in gm cig lighters? In the two firebirds ive owned and my friends firebird and his 96 bonneville, there have been a total of 0 working cig lighters and all cars were checked for blown fuses, anything anyone?

I've owned over a dozen GM's and never had a problem w/a lighter. Did you pull the receptacle apart to make sure the ground and pwr wires are connected? That's the only thing I can think of.

if the lighter part is corroded with ashes, or whatever, it won't make good contact and won't heat up. Also make sure that the inside well is not corroded as well. this is the only problem i had with mine.
