A\C delete what about heater?
A\C delete what about heater?
I've taken out my entire A/C system. From what I've read I'll have some problems with my heater working properly. Is this going to be true? When I got my car back from the shop my A/C compressor wasn't even hooked up (wiring wise) I had to use my heater once cause of the ran and all the fog on the windows. I turned of the heater and it worked fine. Am I to think that my heater will still work fine or what? Also had to remove my old tint off the back window. There was now way to get around this. But I just scraped off the rear defrost lines too. Old tint really sucks! Anyways just wandering how many people out there really think this is a life saver? Or is just another option?

Are you referring to the heat being a life saver or the rear defroster? The defroster is a must.. in my opintion.
I have never heard of the A/C affecting the heater.

It looks like we need to fab a different blower setup. I ripped mine out yesterday, and know exactly what you mean. I'm gonna head out to the junkyard in a bit and see what the NON-AC cars look like.
From my service manual, it looks like the round hole in the left is outside air, and the hole in the right is to your ducting. So we need something to bridge the two gaps. Unfortunately, I wanted to try and clean the engine compartment up a bit more than looks possible..

I picked up the new heater box in a junkyard today.. Looks like the blowe motors are interchangeable too, so we won't have to mess with the wiring..

Well all that sounds cool. I think I'll just cut a good piece of sheet metal. Going to mix the two together. Block off the A\c then just but some fiber glass along the open side of the heater housing. I looked around hear and found nothing as far as a non A\c third gen car. So I'll just have to make my own.

The problem is, you'll never get the heat working.. You can try, but you really need to use a factory box, or one out of an S10 perhaps.
Maybe if I have some time this week I'll grab a couple at the junkyard and put 'em on ebay.

I'm going down the same road of deleting the A/C and it looks like I'm going to have to fabricate a duct.(Spare non-A/C cases are going to be rarer than rocking horse sh@t in the UK).It can't be that hard to make looking at it.One question to anyone with a non-A/C casing,What sort of vents are built into it to pull the air in?
