i just purchased a 1982 Firebird here recently...but am having some electrical problems..as is..no power toanything at all...the battery is fully charged. (tested with multimeter) and power is getting fromthe batter to the grounds..i know that much...but no power to the inside or anywhere in the car...any idea as to whatmay fix this problem? any help at all would be appreciated! The first thing to check would be the fuseable link wire. This sometimes comes off the starter solinoid battery post or off the Battery positive post. I am not familiar with your model. The fuseable link wire supplies power to certain areas of the car. If a short or to much power is drawn through the fuseable link it will melt (just like a fuse would blow)and power would be lost to that area of the car. This link wire is smaller in size than the rest of the circuit it is found in, so it blows first to protect the rest of the wireing from over heating. You usually can tell if it is blown by feeling it and pulling on it with a little pressure. If it is blown it will feel stiff and the rubber coating will kind stretch. Do not check the circuit with a test light because it will not draw enough current through it to be a valid test. I have seen a test light be lit but the circuit will not carry enough current to power accessories.
