tons of gauge problems

First of all I have a 91 305 z28 converted to a t-5....no problem there. Second I got the white gauge faces from Mcewean? motorsports....no problem yet. MY instrument needles are yellow, knida hard to see on white. I put them all in locations i woundnt forget(1000 rpm...1/2 tank gas...ect) removed the needles and sanded them clear and painted them orange. I then repalced them and they work fine except my gass needle doesnt move anymore, and my tach goes crazy at about 3000 it jumps to 6000. Any help there? Also my fans are hooked to a toggle switch on my center console and I got them on the original relays still. The toggle switch grounds where the old shift colum light used to ground in side. When my fans are on the tach goes crazy like before but way worse. Also I keep blowing my 5 amp instrument light fuse. Its not always as soon as i turn on my lights. It can take a few minutes some times. Any help with any of these will make car very happy, and also driver.

Are you powering the fan directly through the switch, which is powered by the gauges fuse? If so, the switch should be configured to ground the fan relay coil.
