Just got a new housing...my mechanic disconnected the hatch motor, because it wouldn't shut off...did that kill my third brake light too? The only way I can see it getting current is through that flap sort of thing that's on the bottom side of the hatch...anyway, you guys have any ideas? I'll check if the contacts are getting juice, but my suspicion is that they're not...any ideas?

When your buddy reaches for a 10-pound sledge and says "I think we're gonna have to modify the floor pan, okay?" the answer is NO.

 

If the motor was disconnected,, then someone took the rear trim off,, possiably leaving the plug off the contact for that 'flap thingy' ?
