LOW VOLTAGE
Ok, My car has been messing up for a while with voltage problems. I've gone through like 5 alternators and 4 or 5 batteries because for some reason the voltage in my car isn't staying up. I must have a short somewhere that keeps draining off the battery, but I'm not really sure how to look for it. Any ideas? Could it be in the wiring from the alternator to the battery? could it be from putting in the 350 and keeping all of the 305 parts? the voltage problem causes an annoying engine surge and the lack of charge also means a lack of power at lights, which sucks when your parked next to a mustang with your friend who owns a ford dealership sitting next to you...
Thanks, Mike

I feel your pain bro.
I have gone through over 7 alternators and 2 batteries in the 5yrs I have owned mine.
the first think you always look for in this type of situation is bad grounds. look at all the wires that are grounded to the chassis and make sure they are clean and good. then start looking for shorts, starting from each ground. if you have any systems (lights radio ect) that behave in an erratic manor that would help with diagnosis.
good luck and well be here for help.
