Making cruise work with no wiring harness or ecm
I just switched to a speed pro ecm, and gutted the factory computer harness and ecm. I still have the vss and was wondering how I can make the cruise work???? Thanks...

do a search on this board, there is a website out there with a very good description of the VSS system, which will be a good start for you. I've posted the adress a few times but I've lost it on my comptuer. As far as the cruise is concerned, get an electronic/vacuum setup. I found mine in my 86 parts car. You'll have to slit the covering on the dash harness to get the cruise wires out, but the only ones you'll have to cut are the system power, the ground, and the vss input wire. Then just put everything back togther and wire it up properly. It would probably help to have a wiring diagram of the car the stuff is coming from.

If your VSS is still located on the rear of the instrument cluster, then connect the VSS output (brown wire) to the cruise control module. The rest of the cruise control connections may be found at:
