Power door locks keep going off?? Bad relay??
I have a 1991 TA with power door locks. It has been very humid lately.
The locks just started closing by themselves. Then when I press the switch I can't get either side to work, but I can hear the relay clicking on the driver's side kick panel.
Everything was working fine yesterday and I have not touched any of the electrics.
I guess the relay is going out and causing weird things to happen?
Anyone have experience with this happening?
Thanks.

I just went outside to check on the locks. It is very humid. Start sweating instantly!
The locks were open even though I put them in the lock position.
I tried the button and they locked and unlocked fine.
I left them in the lock position with the switch and they popped open by themselves.
So I locked them manualy and they stayed locked.
I read a post that moisture in the switch will do this. I am figuring that 99% chance this is the problem.
What do you guys think??

likely culprit is the switches, aftermarket alarms can also cause similar symptoms too.
wiring schematics along with some pictures of the internal door parts are avaliable at:

Just to update.
The door locks did it the opening and closing thing this morning with the high New Orleans humidity. But once I had the AC running it stopped. It also did not do it in the evening on the drive home from work when the humidity was less.
Otherwise the switches work fine now.
Guess it is the moisture setting off the switches??? Quite sensitive. eh?

if problem repeats itself, try removing the courtesy (CTSY) fuse. if lock motors stop moving, problem likely lies with the switches. if locks actuators continue to lock/unlock randomly, the problem is likely with the relay assembly or harness.

Wow, thats the first I ever heard of that. I think I would disconnect them if I drove it daily until I got it fixed, hate to lose a car or have the insides trashed because your doors unlocked themselves.
