Ok I was installing some new wire plastice covering in the engine bay and the next time I drove my car I notice the gas gauge was at the farest settimg it can be at and the amp gauge didnt even work I followed the wire from the alt. sending unit but I cant see where it goes and I havent had a chance to look at the gas wire yet. Anyway my question is where does the alt. wire go? And How do I know if the sending unit is bad in the fuel tank? any input on what to do whould be helpful. Thanks

 

were they working correctly BEFORE you redid the wire covers? If so probably left something unhooked or crossed

 

I fixed it today it was the clear stuff on the back of the cluster it got cut on one of the contacts but thanks for the reply
