Manual Fan switch aint working anymore

Last year I rigged up a manual fan switch and I loved it, then the switch burnt out and i didnt replace it till now, but now it wont work even with the new switch. All the connections are secure and the switch is brand new. I dont think that the wires have a short anywhere, atleast not a visable one. Is there any other possible solution or way to test it, i dont have a voltemeter. thanks.
