Air/Fuel Ratio guage, which to buy??
My car is an 86 305, NON-COMPUTER carbed, 5 speed. see sig for mods.
so i want to get an A/F guage, but i dont know which i need or which to buy. i see in summit that auto-meter makes 2 1/16 electric one for about 50$
then i see one in the carb's section made by Edelbrock that looks like a square box with green, yellow, and red lights, for 124$, both are different.
i just want to know which is better for my set up. I currently have the 02 sensor plugged into my headers, but i doubt its doing anyting considering im not using a computer. So whch one should i use?

Well, I use the Autometer one.. and I'm pretty happy with it.. I like the Autometer one because it has more LEDS so it looks to be more accurate.

either one.. all they use is the reading from the o2 sensor.. the ecm has nothing to do with a A/F guage. So just install a o2 sensor.. and hook it up to the A/F guage.
I put the Edelbrock one in my 69 Chevelle but I "customized" it. I took the board out of that little black box and mounted it with the LED's sticking through the dash where the P RND21 would have been in a column shift car. There's lots of possibilities with the thirdgen for this kinda thing.
The one gage I think is mandatory is a vacuum gage. You can't make it out too good, but that's what replaced the clock right above my AFR meter. Simple hookup too
It's a great tool to diagnose problems right away, and can even help with the gas mileage if you keep it from bottoming out
