My cruise control will not set to a certain speed.

If I press the 'Accelerate' switch, the car does pick up speed, but when I let go, it doesn't set.

I traced all the vaccum (sp?) lines down, and they look fine.

Any ideas?

Just a guess. There is a cruise control switch by the brake petal that disengauges it when the brakes are applied.

Maybe it is out of adjustment or broken (always on).
