Reprogram Alarm Remotes

Just wondering, I have a Viper DEI 467 alarm remote. I'm not sure which viper alarm exactly. I have some extra remotes, but the extras are not programmed for my car. It was for a different car. So I am wondering if anyone knows if they can be programed to the alarm, or not. And if so how to do it.

Thanks guys,

John

Some Viper remotes have a red light, others have a green light...and they are not interchangeable. As long as you have the right color light, you're all set.

You program the remotes using the remote, the ignition key, and the valet/program button in your car.

The programming sequence varies depending on which model Viper you have, and also on what you want each button on the remote to do.

If you can find out exactly what model Viper it is (look for the brain under the dash), I could try to find out for you, or go to their website at directed.com. Otherwise, try to get a local Viper dealer to do it for you.

I don't know if this will help, but i've got a 465 remote for my Viper 300. When I replaced it, I had to look for the frequency (mHz) label inside the alarm's "brain". Then I had to use some little conversion table in the instructions which came with the remote to decipher which traces on the remote's PC board to cut in order for it to replicate the control signal that the brain responds to. My alarm is an older model though, I don't know what yours is so this may not apply.
