3rd brake light problem

These seem to be the biggest pain on Thirdgens, but my 3rd brake light only works like 50% or so of the time. Only way to get it to turn on is the press really hard on the hatch, and then it seems to work. Sometimes it works by itself... any ideas? I cleaned the contacts the best I would with a wire brush. I also took like everything apart and didn't find any loose connections.
Any ideas??
Thanks,
Douglas

I had the same problem after I mounted my fourth gen wing. What I did was adjust the two black hex bumpstops thingies on the ends. They control how far the hatch can close. since yours isn't making contact maybe screw them in a bit thus allowing the hatch to close a little farther.

I scotch-brited my contacts and bent them down a little.
