Fuse Keeps Popping, what could it be???
ok here is the deal, about 2 weeks ago, i was sitting at my friends house, with my car running, and all of a sudden my camaros gauges stoped working, and my warning chime came on and wouldn't stop. I thought it might be the alternator, so i through a new one on, buy the didn't do anything. its the 10 amp fuse that powers the gauges and a couple other things i think. anyways, i drove the car around a few days without the guages working, and then i put another 10amp fuse in it just out of curiousity. It worked!!, for like 1 day, and then the fuse popped again today in the morning. CAn anyone figure out what this could by??? please!!!
I had the same prob. Fuse lasts for a day or so, then blows. Mine was the dome light fuse, and sometimes the guage fuse.Sometimes only lasted a few hours, then blew.
I disconnected all sorts of stuff, one at a time, but still the fuse blew. FINALLY I tracked it down to the wiring near the fuse box. There was a short wither in or right around the fuse box. I ended up suspending the fuse box by 2 bread bag twisties :rolleyes now the fuse never blows. Took me forever to track it down to the fuse box wiring.
Good luck. These things can take a while.

half way down the colum, on top that where your egnition switch is.
