hi my 87 GTA the gauges are not digtal. the temp gauge does not go up at all why is that? and my oil pressure gauge will go up if i leave it in park and rev the engine? Can anyone help me solve the problem.

 

The temp guage will not move if the sender wire is off. In V-8 models it is located on driver side above and between plugs 1&3. It has a single green wire. Most cases it gets knocked off when plugs are replaced. As far as oil pressure, what do you mean. It is normal for the guage to go up when the engine is revved. How high it goes is determined by the weight of the oil being used and the temp of the oil. Cold oil will read high until the engine is warmed and it will then drop down a little. My 89 will read 60lbs. pressure at about 1200rpm's until it is hot, then it runs around 50 or so. Get back to me about the temp thing if you need more help.
