Knock Problem

I keep throwing the (43) knock code. I'm trying to figure out if it's the sensor or the ESCM. I thought I should be able to measure 12V coming out of the ESCM while not driving? or do I have to be driving down the road at ~40MPH?
Any Ideas?
thanks Rick

Check the voltage at the ECM connector terminal B7 (or the black wire on the ESC); it should be over 6volts unless the system is seeing detonation. Check for a loose connection. Replace the ESC sensor or module*

* Haynes disclaims this really fixing the problem but hey,, you gave it a shot anyways lol
