Frankenstein Firebird

I bought the '89 in my sig crashed without engine, and have been working to get it running before school starts. What I've done so far is used my '87 w/ LG4 as a donor car. The engine in my sig came from a '74 truck. Now the problem is that the electronic system in the '89 no longer has a computer in it, and I'm switching from TPI to Carb. I do have the ECU from the '87 and was wondering if I plug that in will it work. All I need is the gauges and lights and electric distributor advance to work. If worst comes to worst I can put the electric fuel pump, TC lockup, and engine fan on switches. Also I kept all of the sensors from the '87. I have two weeks to put her back together. I really want to avoid cutting and splicing wiring harnesses, but that is a possibility.

Thanks,
