Tach Jumping over 2000 rpm ....please help

Tach Jumping over 2000 rpm ....please help

Hey Guys...I have a 1992 Firebird, 305 V-8 TBI set up. its all stock no mods done to it yet....when im driving on the highway and the speed reaches over 70miles pr hr and the Tach is going over 2000 rpm the Tach starts to jump and it feels like the engine is missing , if i speed up it doesnt do it anymore but when u decelerate the Tach jumps wildly and the motor does the missing thing again until the tach gets under 2000 rpms.......i have changed .....rotor,plugs,wires,cap,coil......can anyone help me out please.......email me at...chitowncruiser@hotmail.com with help

I have the same problem, i havent been to my car to fix it but the TPS issue came up

well at least i dont feel like im the only one here now with this problem, am going to change the ignition module and see what that does for it

i changed my ignition module didnt do anything

changed the ICM to ( Accell ) this morning and that seems to have solved the problem, the old one was the GM original and the top part of it felt soft like it was melting from inside....keeping my fingers crossed on this one but it runs better than it did before.






1992 Firebird: with ground effects, Polo Green with tan leather 4th generation seating, Formula hood, GTA wheels and rear deck spoiler, stock 305 V-8 auto trans, Accell coil/rotor/dist cap and 8mm wires, 50.569 miles on it now.

next mod: 4th gen console. Pics coming soon
