Iroc Gauge Voltage Operation

My friend jumped his Iroc the other day and a voltage spike fried his temp and fuel level gauges. Do all camaros operate off of the same voltage reference signal? If not, could someone break it down for me.

You may have to cut & paste that to get it to work.
