tach insanity
my tach is wigging out. yes, i used "wigging".
it bounces around alot. can someone help me figure out the problem? i was told that it is the gauge, and i hope not cause that is spendy. is thare a sensor or relay? it drives me nuts!!!!

I'm fairly sure the tach it wired right to the coil (white wire on coil) just as an aftermarket one would be.
By 'wigging' do you mean it's jumping around RPMs randomly ? I'd start with making sure all ignition connections were clean & tight.

yes, it bounces around, and the center of the travel is close to the corect reading.

I have had the exact same problem before. The problem was the white wire coming out of the coil was loose. If you check all the connections then it might be the tack. They are cheap on ebay about $30 for a stock replacement.
