Horn not working the way it should
I've decided to replace the standard horn on my Camaro with a two-tone setup from a 1985 Cadillac Fleetwood. This particular vehicle had two separate horns; one for each tone. I bolted them into the engine compartment and hooked them up. When I press the horn button, they chirp for about half of a second... I cannot make a long blast. When touched to the terminal of the battery, or another 12V source, they work fine together. Is there too much of a load (being that I now have two horns) for the stock horn relay? If so, what kind should I replace it with?

Are you sure the contact in the steering wheel is good ? The horn 'button' is the ground for the relay.
As for load, both my cars have dual horns, the wire is merely spliced from the one connector to a 2nd for the 2nd horn. No 2nd relay or thicker wire so I'd assume horns don't draw all that much power.

I'm going to go out now and verify that the horn button is making a proper ground... although I believe that the button is good. I just replaced my steering wheel about two months ago.
