chip in key with no comp??

chip in key with no comp??
hey guys i ripped out my computer and switched to carb and i am wondering if i still need that little chip in my key or no? thanks

you shouldnt need the resistor key. It was used for the VATS system and since you took the computer out you wont need it.

You will probably need to jump the starter relay that feeds the solenoid. That relay is activated by the VATS module. It is usually located driver side under kick panel. You can either remove the relay and jump the contact pins, or simply wire it to energize with any key on voltage.

yea i alreayd jumped the starter a while ago but today i went and had a key made but without the chip in it and it won;t even turn when u pout the key in the ignition. they are both exactly the same to.
Do you mean that the ignition will not turn or that the car will not turn over. I don't believe that the resistor in the key would keep the key from turning. If that is the case I would take the key back and have them cut you a new one.
