Fried A Battery Please Help!!
i just bought a 1990 iroc and we tried to start it when i got home, we tried jumping the battery off of my other camaro and it turned over a little bit, but then we noticed a funny noise sounded like snap crackle pop.... and we noticed that the lead in the battery terminal was totally melted, but it was only when i had the key on... anybody have any ideas??
Could be a bad solonoid on the starter.
I tried jumping an older (70's) camaro, with a big battery.
The engine barely cranked and the battery started smoking.
Try putting a fresh battery in, jumping the soleniod, and see if the car turns over. If it does, you have found your problem.
Unfortunatly you will have to put the car up on jack stands to reach the starter and solenoid.
Good luck.
