Where is my ESC module?

I'm having this hard time tring to figure out where my ESC module is. According to my Hanes manual it's supposed to be near the firewall next to the brake booster. But I don't see it!!??. I have a 91 RS 3.1, and I have a code 43, with a bad idleing problem and stalling. Could anyone shed some light on this, and tell me where it is so I can get it changed and see if this is where the root of my problem is. Thank you for any help

That's where it should be. It might be behind a bank of relays. It's a square flat unit about the size of a child's hand with one wide 5(?) wire connector coming out of it.

I'll check it out. I lived in Pensacola FL, for three years, next to the dog track. I miss those beaches

Yeah, you take 'em for granted when you live here, though...

Its built into the computer on the 90-92 V6 and TPI engines. Its on the firewall next to the brake booster on the 85-89 MAF and 88-92 TBI engines.

I believe that the ESC circuit is actually built into the calibration module that houses the PROM - which is located inside the ECM. If that is in fact the case, changing the calibration module, and not the ECM, may be the fix for the problem.
