I got the kit from ignited which has a good diargam and a relay. It is a good switch. I have not been able to figure out which wire goes driectly to the starter from under the dash that if I put 12v onto will kick the starter over. Maybe there is more than one needed?? I pulled the 12v power source from a wire that only is hot after the key is on for security but can't figure the other wiring out. Maybe I should run a wire directly to the starter from the relay?? If you need a copy of the diargam and relay schematic to make your own switch I could find a way to post it. Here are a few pics sorry about the size.

So does it work good overall or is it more of a pain? Also how tight did it fit in the cigarette lighter socket? And it would be great if you could post the wiriing diagrams and schems. Thanks Man!

Do you still have to use the key or not? I like this setup but I would like the security of keeping my key.

The switch it's self slides right into the cigarette lighter hole fits perfectly. That part is easy the wiring is pretty straight forward and easy to do it is trying to figure out which wires to use that has me stumped I will get the basic diagram posted tonight I don't have a scanner so I will try and take a pic.
Yes you still have to use the key to turn the ingintion to run and push the button to start the car. The button is only an addional option to jump a hot wire (only when the key is on) to the starter.
On fuel injected cars the key still has to be on to operate the ECM and fuel pump. So even if you did hook the switch up wrong and put it to a direct 12V source then to the starter all you would do is crank the starter.

so...if it slides right into the lighter socket...could you remove it and take it with you, thereby disabling the started on your car?

hmmmm....:lala:

Never thought of that. If you disabled the ignition from the starter and used the switch as the sole starter switch. The switch is mounted to the trim plate via a large plastic nut on the back. You would have to fix some way to have the switch be a quick release instead of the nut. There is a tab that is a quick release for the wiring off the back of the switch however.

Here is the diagram that came with the switch. The middle black box is the single pull relay. Ignore the wire colors as obviously if I couldn't get it to wrork they are wrong.
