oil pressure switch sender unit and relay power Q
ok the orange wire to oil pressure switch and the oprange wire at the fuel pump realy are both dead and are supposed to be hot at all times and according to wiring diagram theres a 20amp inline fuse in it soemwhere, anyone know where at ? or why orange would be dead like this ? can i connect the tan and orange wires together at the oil pressure switch to help trouble shoot this power source problem ?
thanks for anything

and which wire going to the pump is pump on feed wire ? gray or purple one ??
im about to just wire it direct to ignition cuz im tired of trying to trace why the orange wires at the relay are dead and then sometimes grounded and then sometimes hot and then not again
no wires are cut anywhere cept gray wire at near the top of tank at the sending unit, its spliced there but no power at there or at firewall or anything
new relay didnt help any
the orange wires at the relay are supposed to be hot right ? diagram says orange hot all time, but doesnt show two of themm, only one orange and the also a red one to pump prime connector whereever the heck that is at and i dont have red wire at my fuel relay,, all other wires exist though and another relay by this one has no wire plug to plug into it.. its missing ?
guess will end up parting the car, hate ot have to, but wont have a choice if this doesnt fix soon. cant leave the car sit for long out here.
thanks

The fuse you are looking for should be over by your battery it looks like this. The purple one is the power to the pump the gray one is for the guage.

yeah i just now realized that, duh for me, purple or gray must be for guage sending, but diagram says gray is pump feed, so hmm.... if gray is for guage and if i disconnect gray while key is on thne the needle of guage should go over pegged to the right side..
hmm..
thanks for fuse location info Kaz, i appreciate it !
will do some underhood hunting with flashlight in a minute
thanks for anything else anyone may have related to this
figuring out whats up with the orange wires at oil pressure sender in the engine block and at the pump relay is still yet to happen.... hmmm,,,,
thanks

now ive entered into the wait mode, gonna wait til can take it over to my stepdads garage and put it up on the lift so i can get under there and repair wire that shorted out on what appears to be the tranny dipstick tube brace that goes to tranny to engine bellhousing bolt over there, the harness came out of its loom and looks to have shorted wire on the bracket, its fried more when i replaced fuse and so...
i got under there and pushed harnes up off the bracket as best as i could and now thew fuel pump pumps ! but got some work to do on the harness and on the tank and unit, previous owners chopped up the lines at the to of the tank and halfway removed tank, so.,,,,,
to the garage it goes in the near future, still gotta replace pump on an 88 camaro 5.0L still...
checked the fuse on it and its not burned, heh, its great when you knwo where this fuse is located at, need to be more focused when hunting for fuses and relays, this stuff is findable under the hood if you really try, but helps alot when someone points info out to you regarding that, now i know where this stuff is at and can help others out who know/knew as little about them as i have/did/do
thanks!
