Short wire somewhere

Well, my dome light, radio memory, horn, cig lighter, rear hatch switch, and power doorlocks dont work. Where should I look for a short, any ideas? Also when i was messin with my engine yesterday i noticed that the wire that tires into the back of the block was not hooked to the block. I guess its the ngine ground or block ground or something. Could this cause it? If not, whats that wire for? Its flat and about half an inch or less wide. Thanks!

I would start by looking inside the door jams, where the wire for the locks and sutff go from the inside of the car out to the doors. THey usually get cracked or broken in side there causing locks and power windows to not work and so on. THis is most likely where your problem is. HTH

PS: the flat mesh like wire is a gound strap, but there are alot of other grounds on the car so I don't think that is causing your problem, but I would hook it back up.

also hook that one wire up, you were talking about, no sense in just letting it dangle.

Check your cig. lighter. It may be all crusted and corroded, causing a short. Un-plug it, put a new fuse in and see if it blows.
