Vats Questions

I did a search on a post i saw a while back about the different resistor values for the chip in our keys and could not find it if anyone knows the values and the resistors i need to add up to that number that would help me out allot. I was thinking of brakeing my key in half and soldering the chip into the wire would that work? about 4 times a day my VATS goes off and i hate haveing to wait to start my car. Any ideas would help me allot.

Get an ohmmeter and simply measure each end of the pellet with the probes from the meter. The key values are odd, they are not standard resistor values. Best bet is to use a precision 20turn potentiometer and adjust it to the value from the key. If you don't have access to a meter stop by any electronic repair shop, they will probably do it for free.
