Voltmeter

Where is the best location to hook up the positive wire on an aftermarket voltmeter to read the voltage drop with all the normal accessories on, e.g. fans, headlights, gauges, etc.?

The factory uses the blower motor 12 feed line to sense voltage drop for the alternator control. That line will probably provide the most drop and would be a good point to look at the worst case. You can tap into it at the fuse block. Tap into the side where the voltage disappears with the fuse pulled, that way your wiring will be protected by the fuse in the event of a pinch or short.
