ok Nick is a friend of ours, so we were playing around, and who are you to tell us what we can do...yeah thats what I thought!
Oh and as far as only 20 post, look around on other boards, besides just thirdgen.org you might just realize that the three of us might know a thing or two.

Custom X, I am having issues with my speedometer. I orginally had isues with the cluster lights and had the wrong grey wire hooked up. So your saying if I take the thick grey wire out of the left harness on the car and hook it up to the grn/wht wire on the 4th gen connector that my speedo will work?
Have you made any progress with the fuel gauge? Is there anyway to determine for sure if its computer controlled

When I first turned on my lights to see if the cluster lights lit up, all the warning lights came on instead
. I knew it had to be a wire so I just probed all the wires with a test light to see which one got 12v when the headlight switch was pulled out. I knew the 4th gen harness' cluster lights wire was grey so I just spiced them two together, basically I had the grey wire on the left connector spliced into the 4th gen harness. I do have wires that are not connected from the 3rd gen harness. One of them is the grey wire on the left harness now. all my other gauges work perfect and so does the air bag, brake, SES, and seatbelt light.

ya my air bag works, ses, brake, turns, security is inop now, as well as tcs (didnt want to see lights so groundy/cut).
Do you remeber if it was the ip illumination or odo illumination you connected the third gen wire to? and it was left side for illumination.......?

you got me thinking now. If the cluster lights are not lighting up then the grey wires are crossed somewhere. I cannot remember right now what I ended up doing. I wll check it tomorrow. The left connector had 2 grey wires and the right had one. My 4th gen connector had 2 grey wires. I had 1 of them spliced into the 2 grey ones on the left cluster. and the other spliced into the grey on the right one. After that didnt work I probed all 3 grey wires to see what one was cluster lights and then just hooked that one to my 4th gen cluster grey wire. Yes i Know I said there was 2 on the 4th gen one but I cant remember what I did with the other one. Maybe it wasnt used. Sorry I cant be of more help right now. I know what your going through it sucks and its frustrating. How many grey wires are on your 4th gen connector?
