Anyone using alternatives for standard battery technology?

Is anyone using Genesis XE, or Odessey or other brand of drycell batteries in their daily driver? If so, what are the pros/cons, how long did it last, what was the weight savings?

Thanks,

I'm using an Optima "gel cell". Or do you still consider that "standard battery technology"? I like it fine. I'd thought about trying one of those dry cells, but, like you don't know if they're worth trying or not (power output, daily reliability, lifespan, etc.). I'd be interested in anybody's opinions as well.

I found out from a fellow racer that the Odyssey series is the way to go. He races the worlds fastest electric dragster, and really knows his stuff when it comes to batteries.

He has 2 of them in his 7.4L diesel (only needs one), and has had no problems. Specs can be seen at HEPI.com, but the PC925 model is more than enough. He tested my 406 and found that it draws 330 amps at initial startup. I am odering one today. No more acid spills or corrosion, and about 15lbs lighter than a standard wet cell.
