Viper 300

I got my 92RS last April and it had a Viper alarm in it. Recently, I dropped the remote and it took a dump. I cannot find an installation manual on DEI's website. They have the 300 listed but it gives me the manual for the 300HF. They list two other 300's but they aren't right either. Does anyone have the install manual for the 300? It's probably 8 or 10 years old.

What exactly are you looking for in the installation manual? I've been doing DEI alarms for about 10 years, and they have not changed much.

I'm trying to locate a wiring diagram and programming instructions . I don't completely trust the installation, going by the drawings I've seen from the later models. I'm questioning the wiring of the valet switch ,mostly. If you have a wiring diagram, my email is Kszczepans@aol.com

That valet switch is junk, either don't use it or remove it.

Opinions on the DEI, rattler 300? I think it was like $107 at circuit city. Quality? Opinions?

This is a long shot but, I have a clifford alarm (model says 2020 on it and it is cream coloured). After i got the car back from the body shop, the LED just stays lit and blinks a little. The remote doesn't do anything and neither does the valet switch. Is it fried?

Thakns for any help. I've checked the wiring and it looks fine. Alarm came with the car so I don't have a manual or anything. My next bet is to take it out and hook it up to a power supply and see what happens..

You've got the right idea: yank the old alarm from the car and install a new one in it's place. All the harness wires should already be tapped so the install should be quick & easy.

Could it be in valet mode? If I remember correctly, if you press button one then two then one again within like 1 second of each other it activates/deactivates valet mode. I accidently did this while trying to troubleshoot a no start problem. I thought maybe the ignition kill had failed and wouldn't let it start. I accidently put it in valet mode and then it wouldn't arm/disarm and the LED did something similar. I thought I'd fried the module until I pulled out the manual and realized it was in valet mode.
