What is this plug?

I have an 1986 z28 camaro - LB9 - tuned port injection, and have been trying to fix it up. One part of the process is tracing wires and pulling the old alarm system. While searching the car, I found this wire - it looks like an emission thing, but the ECM isn't giving me any codes to suggest it needs to be hooked up to something. Anyone know what this is and where it goes?
Chris

okay... I had two pictures but I can't figure out how to load them. the plug comes out of the firewall behind the engine and hangs down the ground. It has a connector on the end with four male connections, only three of which have wires inside.

is it a square connector? does your car have or had an auto tranny?, if so it probably goes to the tanny for the lockup converter. if someone swapped in 5 speed then they probably left it hanging, either that or it came off of the tranny.

I have an automatic in it right now... I'll have to look at the top of the transmission to see if it fits late tonight or tomorrow after school and tennis. It should be located towards the front of the transmission box, right? I'll get back with you tomorrow...

it should be located on the drivers side about half way back just above the pan.

I looked and it seems that the lockup connector is already hooked up. Thank you for the idea... I'm just sad it wasn't the solution.

The 'attach file' option is back up for picture posting purposes.
The only thing I can think of offhand that comes out of the firewall right behind the motor is wiring for the HVAC stuff (blower speed, high speed relay).
Pictures or wire colors would make it easier to guess though.
