Strange dash lighting...

I got in tonight and my signal lights in the dash were both on and solid, and my high beam indicator was on despite the fact that my high beams were off. Also when i hit a turn signal the right hand side of the cluster (the amp guage and the buttom 1000 rpm on the tach) would dim and brighten in time with the blinking of the turn indiactor no matter what side. All of my lights are working externaly and my head lights actually seem brighter, what in the hell is going on?!?! This somthing to worry about not or later when i have some time to mess with nit picky details?

I recently had the same problem answered here. It ended up being dirty contacts where the printed circuit behind the dash makes contact with the two plugs that feed it. I used 400 grit sandpaper to clean the contacts, but maybe someone has a better suggestion. I also used dielectric grease when I reassembled it. It works good know. Just and idea.

Check for faulty or bad earth wires. This will always cause lights to flicker when another light is turned on. like pressing brake padal and indicator lights flash.

I had the exact same problem you have Jokerman when I got my car, but mine would also flicker off and on. ended up being the gauges were not in place tight enough. I took off the black trim around the gauges and stearing wheel and tightened the bolt/screws for the gauge cluster down with a ratchet as tight as I could get them with out breaking the screw holes for the cluster and I have had no problems since.
