No Lights - Wth!!!!!

Ok, I was in the process of installing a switch for my hardwire dual fan project and I blew out the 30A fuse to the right of the 10A F/P-INJ2 fuse. When I did that, all the interior lights went out. So, logically, I put a new fuse in and every thing was peachy. So, I went for an hour drive to test out my new hard-wired fans and everything seems fine. I get home and get the car in the garage and next thing I know, the interior lights will not come on and now, neither will my headlights. I looked at the fuse and thats not it. WHAT THE HECK WENT WRONG!?!?!?!?!

you need to recheck your fan wireing to make sure you are not hooked up the the headlight/dimmer circut. next you need to check your headlight/dimmer switch connector to make sure it is not melted. it will be pretty obviuos if there has been a major "melt down". did it blow smoke or smell like burnt cirramic?
also check all of the other fuses.

thanks

so i assume you checked the switch connector. next you need to make sure that you are or arent getting power up to the switch. if not, time to check the fusable links.

thanks

Hmm, well, if the headlight connector came loose..would that effect my interior lights? What exactly is a fuseable link?

how exactly did you hardwire the fans. I only have a single fan but I remember I almost had a small fire in my dash because one of the fan's relay wires switches from a ground to a +12V when the fan turns on. I was using that wire as a ground for a 2 wire temp sensor and when it switched to +12, It fried my wires to the switch.

Ok, I ran a 12g wire from the fan relay ground to my switch. I then ran a 12g wire to a frame ground in the car. The switch I bought is one of those that lights up so I spliced into the cigerette lighter hotwire to proveide power to light the switch...this is how I blew the first fuse. After that, I decided not to splice into the cigerette lighter and just left it alone. So, there are no wires spliced up to anything else on the car except for the fan relay ground. I see no way that the lights can be messed up except for when I blew the cigerette lighter/interior light fuse.

i dont remember a circut breaker being inside the light switch. unless the wireing diagram shows the breaker inside the switch or says in a caption that it is on the switch, then i think they are talking about the circut breaker on the fuseblock. but i may be wrong. i will have to look at my wireing diagrams tomarrow at work. i will try and remember to post what i find.

thanks

Yeah, there is a circuit breaker inside the switch itself which will be a huge PITA to check. I'm not sure what to do with the circuit breaker whern I manage to get it out, but i got to try anything at this point.
