Wiring Questions
Wiring Questions
I've been having problems with the wiring in my car for over half a year, but temporary fixes seemed to fix most of the problems, but now it had gotten to a point where the car is bearly drivable. i know there are a few problems in the wiring, since the fan doesnt come on and the MAF continues to give me problems, which randomly disapear. (i've replaced almost every sensor and relay i could think of and it has done nothing to fix the problem) so i've decided to just disconnect everything and get new wiring from the ecm to the whole shabam under the hood. now the main question is if there is a wiring kit type of thing to make this job easier... or even doable. the other question is for anyone who had done anything similar to this to his car, and any suggestions he might give me to make this job easier. i'm planning on doing that over spring break along with a few other things i wanted to do to my car for a while now.
Any help would be greatly appriciated
thanks in advance

You should be able to get a complete wiring set from Painless Wiring. Really no secret to it, just like spark plug wires, pull one, get the one that matches and hook the new one in. Same with the harness' just pull one, and replace it with the new one. Plan one taking a couple of days to get it done right. Go buy some conduit and electrical tape and some zip-ties. If you drink beer, you may want to get a few of those too.

You are going to invest a whole lot of time and possibly accomplish nothing. There is no reason to replace a wiring harness short of having a fire under the hood or unless it is too chopped up to fix properly. A voltmeter and wiring manual should resolve your problems without having to resort to such extremes.
the thing is that the previous owner of the car was messing with the wiring ... *** knows why ... so now no wiring diagram actually works for the car... it became a complete mystery. i've asked 3 diffrent mechanics to look at it, and they all agreed it would be easier to just replace the whole thing since the previous owner really messed it up with his custom wiring hobby...
just an example of that would be a single wire running from the ecm to down below the dist has 3 DIFFRENT coulours to it ... he made it out of 3 shorter wires joined together ....
Eyerock 89, do you have a website for these guys and do they ship it up to here in canada.... or would i be able to pick up an equivalent from an autoparts store around here
