the odometer/trip meter in my 90 firebird works 75% of the time, the rest it just doesnt do anything at all. i dont think it has a fuse. are u sure yours is completely dead and not working only sometimes?
does anyone know if repair is possible on mine that only stops working once and a while? id like to get an accurate MPG reading.

mine wasnt workin at all, thanks for the lighting fast response...almost as good as mc donalds...lol just messin with ya...it was a fuse, replaced it, blew a few times more, then relized that pliers i was using to pull the fuses was hittin the pwr acess spot...lol 2 points for me there, works now, i dunno what it had to do with it not workin, i thought it worked off my speedo cable???
On my 88 GTA, the odometer doesn't work if the guage fuse is blown. If you pull the instrument cluster, the odometer comes out with it. No wires or cables on the back. The whole thing just plugs in. It's electronic. I'd imagine that if somebody wanted to roll back their odometer on one of these cars, they could just get an instrument cluster with less miles on it! Matt

so i should be able to find an odometer from another car and it'll plug right in? the title already has mention of odometer failure so its not like fraud or anything, i just want to keep track of my miles for oil changes and other maintence. also to calculate my MPG.
